Dünyanın en iyi metal gitaristleri 2008 mart ayında belli oldu. Guitar World tarafından hazırlanıp birçok dergininde katıldığı bu seçimlerde ilk sırada ünlü Black Sabbath grubunun efsanevi gitaristi Tony İommi yer alıyor.Metal dünyasının en müthiş gitar rifflerine Black Sabbath'la imza atan Iommi bir iş kazasında iki parmağını kaybetmesine rağmen gitar çalmaya devam etti. İkinci sırada Metallica'dan Kirk Hammett ve James Alan Hetfield'ın olduğu listede ilk 20 şöyle;

evet ya gercektende kirk gönlümüzü kazanmayaı basardı farkettiyseniz sarkının sonlarında ne zaman solo atsa adam sanki gercektende gitarla sevişiyormus gibi ya gitarını cok seviyor hele üstünde gitarı kendisine ögreten hocasının resmi olunca resmen cosuyor Very Happy
